Child Care Professional Development

Child care is a critical industry in Iowa. The Iowa Department of Human Services is committed to the continuing professional development of child care staff in both child care centerand child development home settings. Research indicates a strong correlation between formal education and training of providers and qualityearly care and educationfor children. Licensing and regulation provide minimum standards for professional development including continuing education. Many Iowa initiatives encourage child care professionals to exceed the minimum continuing education expectations.
