Service Area QA&I Committees

Each Service Area has a Service Area QA Committee whose purpose is to provide oversight, review and recommendations regarding the outcomes for child welfare services within the Service Area. The committee?s authority is advisory only and reports to the Service Area Manager.  Members of the Service Area QA Committee are appointed by the Service Area Manager.  The Service Area QA Committee includes members of the service area senior management team and others as designated by the Service Area Manager.  Committee members are expected to invest the time required to attend regular meetings and participate in activities of the committee.  The functions of the Service Area QA Committee include the following:

  • Hold regular, usual, monthly meetings.
  • Routinely review data related to the key indicators and functioning of the Service Area?s child welfare service programs.
  • Pursue issues of local interest or concern, including special focused studies, most often resulting from the review of data or from other information that suggests a need for further inquiry by the committee.
  • Identify strategies, practices, decision support and validation tools, training, and other supports needed to improve service delivery and outcomes.
  • Participate in developing and approving reports of the QA Committee?s activities and findings
  • Identify opportunities for improvements in services and take action to affect changes that will improve results at the local level, and share lessons learned from the actions taken within and across the service area, as well as with other Service Areas, the Division of Results Based Accountability QA Bureau and the Quality Council.
