Covered Services

Drug testing collection services is the process by which a sample of hair, sweat, or urine is collected and through laboratory analysis the sample is chemically analyzed to determine the presence of certain substances, legal or illegal, in the sample.  Drug testing collection services are generally provided during a child abuse assessment or periodically during an ongoing child welfare service case.

The types of drug testing collection include lab-based urine, hair, sweat patch, and point of collection “instant” tests for urine screening. Saliva and fingernail drug tests are not available under the current contract.

There are three modes of collection under the current contract.  These include “fixed site”, “in-home”, and “emergency testing”.  “Fixed-Site Testing” means that the client physically goes to a specific site or location to complete a drug test.  “In-Home Testing” means that the Contract Collector physically goes out to the client’s home or address as arranged to collect a sample.  “Emergency Testing” means when an expedited test is required.
