IMPORTANT UPDATE

AmeriHealth Caritas Iowa, Inc. is withdrawing from the IA Health Link managed care program effective November 30, 2017. AmeriHealth Caritas members have been tentatively assigned to UnitedHealthcare but may choose to receive coverage through Amerigroup Iowa. Members may change their MCO for any reason until March 1, 2018. Members must  change their MCO by November 16, 2017, for their coverage to begin with Amerigroup Iowa on December 1, 2017. Learn more by reading the sample member letter and the Press Release

Dental Wellness Plan Healthy Behaviors

Beginning July 1, 2017, most adult Medicaid members, age 19 and older, will be enrolled in the Dental Wellness Plan. As a Dental Wellness Plan member, you have access to full dental benefits during the first year. You must complete 'Healthy Behaviors' during the first year to keep your full benefits the next year.
 
'Healthy Behaviors' include completion of both:
  1. Oral Health Self-Assessment
  2. Preventive Service

If you do not complete your 'Healthy Behaviors' each year, you may be charged a monthly premium. Find more information on the Dental Wellness Plan Healthy Behaviors webpage

Iowa Health and Wellness Plan Healthy Behaviors

Members in the Iowa Health and Wellness Plan receive free health services in their first year of eligibility. Members who complete their 'Healthy Behavior' requirements each year will continue to receive free health services. There are two 'Healthy Behavior' requirements you need to complete each year:
 
'Healthy Behaviors' include completion of both:
  1. Health Risk Assessment
  2. Wellness Exam OR Dental Exam
