Accreditation of Mental Health Service Providers

Please contact staff in the Bureau of Community Services and Planning if you wish to seek accreditation as a service provider under IAC 441-24.  They will assist you with the process.

Accreditation responsibilities of the Division of Mental Health and Disability Services  include:

  • Providing training and technical assistance to community based providers to support them in preparing for service accreditation review.
  • Developing and implementing accreditation and qualification standards for community based service providers in conjunction with the MHDS Commission.
  • Conducting provider reviews required as part of the facility/provider accreditation process as defined in Iowa Administrative Code Part 441, Chapter 24.
