AmeriHealth Caritas Iowa, Inc. withdrew from the hawk-i program effective November 30, 2017. AmeriHealth Caritas members have been assigned to UnitedHealthcare. The department has put in place a temporary suspension of Managed Care Organization (MCO) choice.

Previously the Department notified members they would be able to choose Amerigroup Iowa. Due to concerns with capacity, Amerigroup Iowa is not currently accepting any additional members. In the future members will be able to choose from multiple MCOs. Members will be notified when that choice is available. 

AmeriHealth Caritas' members were transitioned to UnitedHealthcare effective December 1, 2017. Learn more by reading the sample member letter.

Pay your hawk-i premiums online using E-Pay

You have the option to pay for your child's hawk-i premium online using a service called E-Pay which is administered through U.S. Bank. You will need to register and create an E-Pay account on the US Bank/hawk-i portal in order to be able to pay your hawk-i premium(s) online.

Once you have created your E-Pay account, you will have the option to set up a one-time or a recurring payment. You will need a bank account to sign up for E-Pay. Premium payments made using E-Pay can only be withdrawn from your checking or savings account. We are not able to process debit or credit card payments. Please give hawk-i 1-2 business days to process your payment before you call to check if it was received. You will also get an email from U.S. Bank confirming your payment. 

Note: When your premium obligation or enrollment in the hawk-i program ends, you will need to access your E-Pay account to stop the reccuring payment. The hawk-i staff will not have access to your account and will not be able to stop the the recurring payment for you.

Why do you ask for my email address when I sign up? 
We need you to include your email address. A payment confirmation will be sent to you after you set up a payment. Your email address is also useful if you forget your password and need to get back in to your account.

Where can I find my policy number?
Your policy number is located on your invoice. It is also located at the top of any letter you receive from hawk-i.
