Covered Services

Drug testing collection services is the process by which a sample of hair, sweat, or urine is collected and through laboratory analysis the sample is chemically analyzed to determine the presence of certain substances, legal or illegal, in the sample.  Drug testing collection services are generally provided during a child abuse assessment or periodically during an ongoing child welfare service case.

The types of drug testing collection include lab-based urine, hair, sweat patch, and point of collection “instant” tests for urine screening. The Drug Testing Collections contractor sends the obtained sample to the Drug Testing Laboratory Services contractor for analysis.
