Conflict-Free Case Management

Conflict-free case management (CFCM) through the Balancing Incentive Program (BIP) requires states to mitigate conflicts of interest in the provision of community long-term services and supports (LTSS). Iowa is addressing CFCM providing an independent person to interview individuals with a core standardized assessment, adding administrative and quality assurance oversight of case management and revising the Iowa Administrative Code  441-Chapter 77 to add language of mandatory compliance with federal regulations. Further stakeholder engagement and discussion in planned for January 2015.
