Child Care and Development Block Grant

The Reauthorization of the Child Care and Development Block Grant (CCDBG) was signed into law on November 19, 2014.  The law establishes the funding and federal policy direction for child care. These requirements are outlined in federal rules under the Child Care Development Fund (CCDF), the name given to the federal child care program. Development of the FFY 2019-2021 State Plan

The Iowa Department of Human Services (DHS), Division of Adult, Children and Family Services, is seeking input on the state's Child Care Development Fund (CCDF) State Plan for Federal Fiscal Years 2019 –2021.  Federal regulations require the state to notify the public regarding the state's child care assistance program and the efforts to improve the quality of child care in Iowa. Iowa's draft CCDF State Plan will be available for review and comment from May 18th – June 14th, 2018.  Comments will be accepted by email or US postal mail until 4:30 p.m., Thursday, June 14th.  Please send comments to:

A public hearing will also occur on June 7th from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the Iowa Judicial building located at 1111 East Court Avenue, Des Moines, Iowa.
