What is the Iowa Health and Wellness Plan?

The Iowa Health and Wellness Plan program provides health coverage at low or no cost to Iowans between the ages of 19 and 64. It is one plan that includes two separate eligibility groups. All Iowa Health and Wellness Plan members are covered for the same types of health benefits. Eligibility is based on household income.

Pursuant to the authority of Iowa Code Section 249A.4, the Iowa Department of Human Services (DHS) intends to renew the Home and Community Based services (HCBS) Health and Disability (HD) Waiver.  This notice provides details about the waiver renewal and serves to open the 30-day public comment period which closes on October 27, 2017.
