Child Care and Development Block Grant

The Child Care and Development Block Grant (CCDBG) was originally signed into law in 1990, was reauthorized in 1996 and again most recently in 2014. The law establishes the funding and federal policy direction for child care. These requirements are outlined in federal rules under the Child Care Development Fund (CCDF), the name given to the federal child care program. The most recent rules were published in September 2016 and can be found at www.ecfr.gov [1].

Iowa Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF) State Plan

FFY 2022-2024

Iowa’s FFY 2022-2024 CCDF State Plan [3] is due to the federal Office of Child Care on June 30, 2021 for the three-year plan period covering October 1, 2021 through September 30, 2024.
 
Iowa’s DRAFT FFY 2022-2024 CCDF State Plan is open for public comment from 5/11/2021 through the end of the day on 6/7/2021. Please see the instructions below for submitting a comment. A public hearing will be held virtually on June 7, 2021 from 10 a.m. to noon. Please use this link [4] to participate in the public hearing.

FFY 2019-2021

Iowa’s FFY 2019-2021 CCDF Plan was originally submitted to the federal Office of Child Care in June 2018. Since then there have been four amendments submitted.

Statewide Child Care Emergency Preparedness and Response Plan

The Iowa Child Care Emergency Preparedness and Response Plan provides a framework for preparedness and recovery activities for child care regulatory and child care subsidy in the event of a significant emergency or disaster in Iowa.
