As part of our ongoing effort to improve our public reporting during the pandemic, we are making additional updates to the online dashboard.

Effective January 8, 2021, the Long Term Care (LTC) dashboard will now reflect individuals who have died as a result of COVID-19 using the new methodology announced in December. LTC deaths have been and continue to be included in the overall COVID-19 death total using the new method, however this change was not yet reflected in the public facing LTC-specific dashboard. Additional updates

Previous reporting: The reporting method for the LTC dashboard included old positive cases in an LTC facility for previous outbreak status.

Example: If an LTC was in an outbreak status in April and then again in January, the positive case counts were captured for both outbreaks in the overall positive counts.

New reporting: The number now only reflects positive cases associated with the current outbreak.
