The Family Planning Program (FPP) is for men and women who are 12-54 years of age. The FPP helps with the cost of family planning related services. The FPP is a state-funded DHS program which replaced the Iowa Family Planning Network (IFPN) program. Eligibility and covered benefits did not change. The location where you receive services may have changed. As of July 1, 2017, eligible IFPN members transitioned to the FPP. For more information on the FPP view the FPP Brochure (Español).

Find an FPP Provider

The provider search tool will take you to the Iowa Medicaid Enterprise (IME) Provider Search Portal. Select 'FPP Provider' in the 'Type' dropdown.

You can change the 'Specialty,' 'County' or 'Metro' to expand or narrow your search. Provider lists are subject to change and are updated daily.

What is the Family Planning Program (FPP)?

This program allows men and women to get family planning services only. This program is a form of limited insurance coverage. If you are able to enroll in the FPP, most of your basic family planning services will be paid for. However, it does not meet the Affordable Care Act requirements for a minimum essential benefits plan.

The gross income (before taxes and other deductions) received by any person included in the household size must be counted. Income received by a parent for a teen (e.g. child support, social security benefits) is not counted for the teen’s eligibility unless the parent makes it available to the teen.
